Heroic Aguerd and a brighter Irons future

Despite the January transfer window slamming shut the rumour mill is still full of big money speculation  surrounding England midfielder Declan Rice.

Things are a little bit more relaxed at the London Stadium given recent results and it probably is not the time  to lay any bets on what the next few months will bring, but for those who like a bit of a flutter, free slots UK no deposit is an option for now.

Speaking immediately after the Everton draw, Moyes’ relief was clear for all to see as we added to our small unbeaten run.

“It’s a great point for us. We played well today. I’m really pleased for the players. We could have buckled. This place at the moment, it’s right on top of you. But we played well today and deserved to get back in the game. There are lots of pluses for us.

There was a period where we had two or three opportunities or moments where we could have got the second goal, but I was pleased with how we controlled the game at different times. Newcastle are playing very well at the moment, but we did today as well.”

Many in the fanbase feel that our form has now  turned, and any also rightly point out the importance of Nayef Aguerd’s own personal form now and how his earlier injury may have cost us.

Despite the distraction posed by the mid-season first ever World Cup out in Qatar, it seemed to suit the 26 year old perfectly despite a late injury of course and he was even selected for Garth Crooks’ Team of the Week feature for the BBC.

Crooks was particularly impressed with how he dealt with six capped England striker Callum Wilson on the day saying@ “The tackle by Aguerd on Callum Wilson as the Newcastle striker was bearing down on the West Ham goal was as good as I’ve seen.

The Morocco central defender looked brilliant throughout this encounter. The Hammers have had a difficult time of it lately as they fight to avoid relegation, but seem to have steadied the ship.

The fans were starting to get a little restless at the London Stadium and when that happens it normally means the manager’s head is on the chopping block.”

There will no doubt be a few more ups and down in the remainder of the year, but if we can build on the small consistency we now have, we should be able to look ahead more brightly once again.
