Hesitant Hammers keep hopeful waiting

|

David Moyes appears to be having some real hesitation in giving Jesse Lingard a contract despite him training with the squad for several weeks and playing in last night’s game against Ipswich Town.

Lingard facing lengthy wait for London Stadium “result”

It may have been believed that his inclusion in the behind closed doors game was some sort of confirmation that Moyes believed he may be ready to produce a contract-gaining performance.

But after speaking with our top contact at the club today it seems the attacking midfielder still has some improving to do if he is to land any sort of deal at the London Stadium

We put the question directly to our contact whose simple reply was: “Impossible to say. The jury remains very much out on him.”

It should be remembered that despite being paid top wages Lingard made just 1t appearances for no goals although he scored a couple in the EFL Cup against Spurs and Blackburn Rovers.
