Hiddink should take a leaf from Slav’s book

We won’t labour it any further except to say this!

Perhaps we have become so used to honesty from our new manager that it came as an unpeasant moment when Guus Hiddink gave his entirely predictablChelsea-Chelsea-News-Chelsea-Team-News-Jose-Mourinho-Jose-Mourinho-Sacked-Mourinho-Sacked-Guus-Hiddink-Guus-Hiddink-627609e and WRONG view on that late penalty.

He said: “I was happy with the late penalty decision. It’s difficult for me to make a judgement – I think he was tripped on the line. On the line is part of the box.”

Slav on the other hand – along with those of us watching the game and the replay knew full well that Antonio hadn’t touched him, and was outside the box as was the offence.

Guus , it’s not hard to make a judgement – simply watch the replays and come to the right conclusion before opening it.

I have a lot of time for Hiddink but he has done himself no favours this time around. He sounds like any other lucky boss spouting the kind of twisted logic which gives football such a poor name in many areas.

West Ham’s football is top class – others should see us as an example of how the game should be played.

But perhaps even more importantly, our manager’s attitude of total honesty could be seriously followed to improve the image of a game so badly tarnished by dishonesty and mixed messages.

  1. Compare that incident to the Payet penalty/dive ? last week and then tell me that refs don’t still give the “big” decisions to the “big” teams and that,s without the 12 yd wall for the goal from the free kick ! Time for hawk eye type reviews on these “tight” decisions for me and eliminate these poor decisions from the game for good .

  2. 2 weeks in a row we have had a deserved win taken away by bad refereeing. The fact that the non-penalty was given for Chelsea, and the foul on our keeper was ignored for Man U, is not a coincidence. Both these clubs have had special treatment for at least 15 years because of their great success record. Before them it was Liverpool who got special respect from refs.
I suppose we should be used to it by now but I am never going to accept it. Even Allardyce complained about it 3 years ago, and got a 5000 pound fine for it. After that we got even worse treatment from refs for 2 years, and while that finished with Allardyce leaving we still have to put up we the Man U / Chelsea syndrome.

  3. We have had only nine pens in 4 years, none away from home. Certain big name teams who i won,t name have had 26. You work it out.

  4. The truth is we have now entered the nitty gritty part of the season where refs decide who plays in Europe and those they think should not , this is not based on merit but on agendas that say the big 4 or five ( established ) teams have a better chance of delivering success !
This is a practice that has been delivered by the FA for as long as I can remember , Leicester have put a huge wedge between swaying results concerning them but make no mistake by stopping the likes of west ham from gaining maximum points when deserved will in most cases help the elite to prosper on behalf of the English game in Europe , the two points dropped ( stolen ) will probably come back and stuff us , there’s 18 points to play for now and I just wonder how many will be taken from us to keep the age old practice nepatism rolling on !!
I still haven’t got over what happened yesterday , but the thing that hurts the most is nothing will happen to address the problem with the officiating , its a scandle ! The quicker technology comes into play the better , but don’t hold you’re breath cos they will find a way around that to ! Probably one call a game ??? So in effect they will make 2 or 3 bad calls to counteract it . Chelsea held the game up yesterday for 2 minutes before payet could take hisfree kick, scandalous , but nothing will be done . We had 3 players around the ref early on in the season and got punished for it !! Chelsea will not ? One last thing ! LLet’s see if the FA can help madley in his dyslexic account from 10 which he forsee as 12 !! The two yards gained by the ref did in fact help fabregas because 2 yards closer makes it a tighter kick to judge , regardless of what Murphy says , 2 yards closer and the ball probably goes over the bar or hits the wall !! 3 matches yesterday and the refs got major decisions completely wrong , sack them its time to get rid of people who think they are above the rules of the game , then replace the FA with a body of people who can be trusted ,
Dyke said as much that’s why he is stepping down .

  5. Sooner the FIFA Video Referee Trials start the better, the decisions seem to get worse by referees in a match, and the two touch line officials tend to be disasters, did the referee not look to his official for confirmation yesterday before awarding the penalty? did neither official see the ball moved for the first Chelsea goal from the free kick?

In sports like Rugby League a panel reviews videos of matches after the weekend and they can look at incidents missed by the referee, but more important if he is shown not to be up to standard they can be suspended from the next one or two weeks fixtures, referees need to be accountable.
