Hideous FA fines a disgrace

MatIf West Ham’s fine against the FA’s charge of failing to control their players in the 44th minute of the match against Chelsea fails it will be the biggest crime yet from the bunch of farts who run that antiquated organisation.

That the charge has been brought at all shows an entire lack of understanding of the game they are supposedly (and I use that word very carefully) running.

If anyone of these throwbacks to another age had played the game at any decent level they would understand the passion of players.

The lads were watching their most dangerous raider breaking away in a hugely important game before being hauled down in disgraceful fashion.

Err, what are they gonna do, turn away and say: “Leave it to the ref – we trust him.”

That they showed their feelings is entirely understandable – what isn’t that the FA has a rule saying no more than a couple of players can approach the ref.

It shows a total lack of understanding as to how the players they represent actually think and feel in the heat of battle.

And how can the club be held culpable is totally beyond me unless the FA want them to introduce anger and passion management courses.

The fines handed out for minimal crimes is quite shocking and ClaretandHugh is told that should we fail to get it overturned, the penalty is likely to be around £75k – and FOR WHAT?!

There’s not a word strong enough to express my feelings towards this secretive and shockingly arrogant organisation who seem to collect hideous amounts of cash from club to maintain their own entirely ineffective operation.

  1. They seem to the refs are not to blame?? That’s very debatable? I mean they should be fined for not controlling the game properly..

  2. Take the claret and blue tinted glasses off.

We know what the policy is and we transgressed. The FA and FIFA need to stamp out this nonsense of constant appealing to the ref and crowding him to influence his decisions. Our players haven’t learned the lesson from the last fine and we opened ourselves up to this. If you want better quality refereeing, the lawmakers have to take this sort of pressure of the officials. They need to get tough on it and allow only the captain to speak. Football will be better for it.

The only complaint we can legitimately have is that enforcement seems selective and inconsistent.

  3. Err, what are they gonna do, turn away and say: “Leave it to the ref – we trust him

Yes, the way players crowd the Ref now days is disgraceful.

  4. Tbh i really aint into all this ref crowding & i include our players in that.Stood round him snarling & swearing at him.I aint a fan of many refs in the Prem,i think there are some shockers but come on,it is embarressing watching players snarling & swearing at refs in football.I aint into Egg chasing but are you telling me that those rugby players aint fuelled with adrenaline & pasion, they still manage to show respect & control themselves round the officials. This passion arguement is bs.Players seem to control themselves fine when they are already sat on a yellow & dont want to give the ref verbals in case they pick up another yellow.& there off.It is just a lack of self-discipline imo.

  5. Ultimately they will probably try and get to the stage where this is being handled as it is in Rugby. The referee will discuss disciplinary matters on the pitch with both team captains and will, depending on any controversial actions on the pitch, allow the one or two other players involved to that discussion.
That obviously would need to be enforced in football, consistency being the keyword here.
Our fine appears harsh in the context, but there were players from our team approaching the referee before skipper Noble could reel them back in, so in the letter of the law the fine is justified.
BUT: If the FA really wants to go down that avenue, they will need to follow through in every single game, and let’s be honest, this would result in probably every team getting a fine in every single game, if you really were to follow the letter of the law.
Does the FA really want to do that ?
Or is this just a balancing out act by FIFA to appease Chelsea ?

  6. Unfortunately as we have seen through the ages English refs and their employers are not and will not be held accountable for their actions end of .
To ask players and managers to toe the line against a beurocrasy that is corrupt from top to bottom ( the same with uefa and FIFA ) is never going to be solved !!!!!
Football in general is the worlds biggest and most lucrative sport on the planet collectively the foothold these organisations have will never be severed ,
I’m afraid even in rugby as seen at the world cup Australia were given a helping hand by the ref even with the aid of playbacks and for me dismisses the reterick about discipline in rugby officialdom but to be fair to the teams who play rugby the discipline is impecible even in the face of blatant cheating ?? ( hats off to them ) discipline starts and stops with the club and clubs in england ( football ) and abroad need to pass the fines on to the players in question who commit the so called offences and maybe even dock a weeks wages as well .that would be a start on our clubs part in stopping giving the ammunition to the ruling body’s and making them even richer ! But and its a big but while the clubs have a big part to play you will never ever beat the big boys who govern the sport , the only way to cure the problem is to clear the decks and start afresh with football people who understand the beautiful game and put the elite bias corrupt dinosaurs to pasture,
One more thing to add is that if refs make big blunders and change the result of a game or administer red cards which are bad calls then they should also be fined and reprimanded.
But if we had playback like in rugby then then the game is never going to change for the better, times have changed hugely in football but the system hasn’t and that’s why we are here witnessing and discussing these evident problems.
None of what I have said here will happen because we as the financing body which fuel this sport are just being fleeced by the capitalist entourage that govern it without reprimand,
These are people using capitalist venture with fascist values which by the way is what makes our world go around !!!!! Its normally known as corruption ?? Social control !!!!
    With you’re money !!!!

  7. It was a London Derby full of passion . If they are going to fine the uncontrollable Chelsea players for surrounding the ref ,, then it goes with the territory that they will also fine West Ham . The only difference is that Chelsea do it on a regular basis when things aren’t going their way . I think Mourinho is culpable for both instances because of his enticing behaviour rubbing off onto not only his players , but also onto our’s . Mourinho’s indiscipline is what should be put under the microscope if player behaviour is to be critized continually .
West Ham are guilty of beating Chelsea .

  8. No West Ham player was booked over the sending off incident unlike Chelski, so how can we be charged on the same offence?? If the ref thought that both teams were as bad as each other why wait until he makes his report of the game??

  9. May I point out again this blog was written because of the size of the fines. Look at the headline and read the blog and that’s quite clear. Perhaps some consider 75k for a bit of a verbal ruck ok. I don’t. Ludiceous whether it’s West Ham or Watford
