Highly promising Iron looks for reversal of fortune

Conor Coventry could get his next outing for Peterborough United against Reading this evening.

The hugely promising Hammer was part of the Posh team which took a dreadful 6-2 drubbing at Sheffield United at the weekend.

That saw the team slump to second off bottom of the Championship with only Nottingham Forest propping them up at the bottom.

As baptisms go this was an awful start for the youngster who was very much in the Hammers first team frame in pre-season and was considered likely to be part of it for the new season at one point.

But for a late move for Alex Kral, the under 23 would certainly have been among his midfield options after impressing everybody in the summer friendlies.

Tonight he faces another away trip if selected against a Royals side just one place above the Posh in the bottom three and on the same four points.

Hopefully he won’t be facing a season of struggle which is hardly going to help his development so “Come on you Posh!”
