“Hodgson is begging AC to be at his very best”

ANDYCARROLLDavid Gold is totally convinced a rip-roaring end to the league season will see Andy Carroll onto the ‘plane for Brazil.

The big Geordie still needs games and goals to clinch his place though and that’s great news for West Ham.

Gold told ClaretandHugh exclsuively: “Roy Hodgson wants a big man up front and I believe that the England manager is mentally begging Andy to be at his absolute best until the end of the season.

“He needs Andy Carrolll and I believe will be watching him very cl0sely over the last games.

” That’s great news for West Ham because we need Andy to dominate games so there likely to ┬ábe a real edge to his game between now and then.

“He’s desperate to get on that plane and after the season he’s had it will be massive for him – so he has a critical end of season ahead of him.”
