Following reports that West Ham have made an official bid of £27 million pounds for Nice central defender Jean-Clair Todibo, C&H have just learnt that despite negotiations with the Ligue 1 club being successful, the player himself would like to move elsewhwere. .

Sky Sports News transfer expert Darmesh Sheth confirmed earlier that the French club has accepted West Ham’s bid for the highly rated defender. However, the Hammers negotiating team have not been able to negotiate personal terms with Todibo, with the defender preferring a move to Juventus for Champions League football.

Unfortunately this news has also been confirmed to Claret & Hugh within the past hour with a top source claiming the transfer was now ‘unlikely’ but also suggesting we would now move on to other targets.

Whether Juventus will counter West Ham’s transfer offer and make a bid that is also accepted by Nice is unknown at this time. Todibo was reported as being willing to join the Hammers as recently as last week, so there has clearly been a change of heart from the player if reports are to be believed.

Juventus are actively trying to offload players in an attempt to raise their own transfer funds, which has seen West Ham recently linked with their winger, Matias Soulé.
