Holland first team decision later today

Nathan Holland’s first team dreams this weekend will be known to the young man by now and the rest of us  by this evening.

For with the Under 23s involved in a Premier League game against Norwich and the teams set to be announced later today we will all see where he is headed – for the Colney Training Centre or the London Stadium.

The odds have to be against a squad appearance, although we#d love to  see it, as with the team in a poor spell it may be unfair to launch him into action at this stage.

However, we know he has been training with the first team all week and the manager regularly takes us by surprise with his selection policy.

We think it’s more likely he will stick by the squad which went under so poorly at Everton hoping that he will get a response from a group of players who have much to put right.

Pablo Fornals will be fortunate to retain a place in the starting line up and we expect Andriy Yarmolenko to get the shout with a return for Aaron Cresswell likely at left back.

Likely team: Roberto; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Rice, Noble; Yarmolenko, Anderson, Lanzini, Haller.

  1. anderson holds his place after not being up to scratch all season, and looking disinterested!
