Holland signs new Hammers contract

|

Exciting young Hammer Nathan Holland has signed a new contract with the Club which will see him with the club until at least 2022.

Quietly and out of the glare of leaky publicity the club is starting to do the business in a big way and it really is an excellent piece of news as the season winds down.

Holland has been regularly touted as the next big thing at the club and his arrival at Rush Green as a first team squad member with his own place in the dressing room is a tribute to him and the academy staff who have overseen his development since he arrived at the club from Everton.

Most of us have been hoping and praying to get a glimpse of the exciting winger in action as a first teamer and with two games to go there is still a chance of course.

Injury has perhaps got in the way of his chances but despite the under 23s relegation to Premier League 2 League 2 this week Holland remains a very hot prospect indeed.

And on signing his new deal the youngster told www.whfc.com: ““West Ham has felt like home since I joined the club and I’m delighted to extend my contract with the Hammers.

“West Ham have been brilliant. It’s been a challenge, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it since I’ve joined. That is thanks to my teammates and the staff here at West Ham. I’m happy to be here for many more years.”

He continued: “It’s been tough and there’s been lots of highs and some downs. Overall, I think I’ve improved as a player and it’s made me stronger.

“I think it’s taken a while for me to get back to what I say is my best. I feel like, in the past few months, I’ve got there, and I’m delighted to be enjoying my football out there on the pitch.

“I want to finish the season strongly and work hard in the summer. I want to be ready to come back firing and see where that takes me. I just have to keep pushing, keep playing well, enjoy my football, and be ready for when my chance comes.”
