Hopes rise for defender

|

tomkins-255812David Gold is hopeful that James Tomkins will be available for the clash against Southampton at the Boleyn tomorrow.

JT of couse received a nasty gash under the right eye in the early stages of the match at Villa yesterday and came off at half time for Carl Jenkinson.

Pictures emerged later of the defender’s eye closing but Gold appears confident that he will be fine for the clash against Southampton, who hit incredibe form with a 4-0 win over Arsenal.

Speaking on Twitter Gold said: “I think Tomkins will be available for selection. dg.”

And he is hopeful  that Aaron Cresswell who also left the action will be recovered for a match which looks to be as tough as it gets given the amazing form found by the south coast side.

Cressie was described as “having felt some tightness” but Gold said: “I hope they will both be available for the match.”

We need him back 4.5 games no goals he goes off the ref gives a soft Pen and we concede
The Ref misses a definitive Pen for us
Not going our way at the moment but still got 26 points with one game to go before half way and only lost 4 games I will settle for that

Think! it’s time for Mr Gold to stop his announcements!

That’s the kibosh on the modelling career – and all decent Defenders should have a few scars anyway!
