West Ham United’s successful FA cup run has energised the club’s whole season after a dreadful start: Many including skipper Jarrod Bowen see the ‘turnaround’ in the Hammers’ fortunes as stemming from the Cup third round victory – in extra time – against Queens Park Rangers.

There has been an air of optimism growing ever since: The Hammers’ positive outlook of course received a huge boost from the penalty shootout against Brentford and ‘JB20’ stated that the cup run had boosted morale across the club.

The under 21’s now take centre stage and have their own opportunity to add to the feel good factor at West Ham United at this critical stage in the season.

The academy ‘development’ side have reached the final of the National League Cup which pits ‘development/youth’ sides, such as ours, against ‘grown adults’ from the lower leagues.

After winning their group, the Academy XI have fought their way to the final which is on Tuesday evening, 17th March at 7pm:

“In the quarter-finals, our U21s travelled to Lincolnshire to face Boston United, where goals from Ryan Battrum and Emeka Adiele earned a 2-1 victory over the Pilgrims.

Then, in the semi-finals, our U21s produced one of the most remarkable nights in the Academy’s recent history, defeating Tamworth with ten men to reach the National League Cup final.” – whufc.com

And the great news is that the game will be live-streamed on YouTube and across West Ham’s media channels so we can all grab a cuppa and cheer on the Academy side who take on Boreham Wood in the National League Cup Final.

90 minutes – plus penalties after – means the drama will unfold tomorrow night without extra time or replays: A victory could only add to the good, positive feelings around West Ham just now so we wish the youngsters well! Come On You Young Irons!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Not sure why more isn’t being made of this across the national football channels. What an incredible achievement
