How Moysie saw the FA Cup win

David Moyes watched the team move into the fourth round of the FA Cup and reckons that it was thoroughly deserved given the level of performance.

Goals from Manu Lanzini and Jarrod Bowen settled things of course and set us up with an away trip to Kidderminster Harriers in the fourth round.

Those games are always tricky but if the team play to the same level as we saw today there really will be no problem.

And with Kurt Zouma making rapid progress from his knee injury it may beven be that the summer signing will be available to rejoin the squad for the February clash.

Regardless of what comes next the manager was more than pleased with what he saw today against a Leeds team which was stripped of various regular first teamers.

Commenting to www.whufc.com afterwards it was clear that he was than satisfieid with the level of performance declaring: “We were a good value for the result and deserved to win. It was tight though.

The game was close, they were without a few players, we were without a few players, but I thought we did a decent job today.

I thought we made good opportunities to score more, and had the chance to score more.

We didn’t give up so many chances today which was probably the biggest thing for me, even though I think Leeds are always capable of making chances with the way they play.

We got a clean sheet after those two wins in the Premier League, so it keeps that little bit of momentum building again.

I didn’t feel Manuel Lanzini’s goal was offside. I thought Nicki [Vlašić] had got away and was going to get the shot away, and then I saw Jarrod [Bowen] nicking in and thought something was going to happen there.

I know it was a long call from VAR, but at the time, I didn’t feel personally that it was offside, although I haven’t seen it again so I couldn’t really comment on that on that.”

  1. Why does VAR always take so long deliberating our goals? If they cannot see some reason to disallow it in the first 30 seconds how can it be clear and obvious?

  2. Good performance all round. I hope someone has a word with Fredericks about looking up and providing assists.
