West Ham have now been chucked into the mix for Malian striker El Bilal Touré – yet another name to add to the ever-growing list of transfer links this summer.
According to Africa Foot, the 23-year-old forward – who’s currently on the books at Atalanta – is attracting interest from at least eight clubs, despite managing just three goals in 17 appearances last season. His campaign was blighted by injury after fracturing his metatarsal last November, and although he showed flashes of his explosive pace and physicality, he’s hardly set Europe alight.
Touré, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan at VfB Stuttgart, managed two goals in the Bundesliga and added another in the Champions League. Not exactly prolific, is it?
This feels like another lazy link and there have been far more impressive targets even in this window. The Hammers are being mentioned with so many players right now it’s hard to tell who’s a genuine target but this particular rumour feels a bit far fetched.
There is, however, some irony here. It was Atalanta who tried (and so far failed) to sign Senegalese wing-back Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague – a deal West Ham look likely to complete. Apparently, Atalanta needed to sell first, and Touré could be the one they cash in on.
Atalanta shelled out €30 million for him in 2023, but are now reportedly willing to let him go for €10–15 million. If that’s true, then someone’s taking a financial kicking – and we hope it’s not us.
Not good enough pass him by
Overpriced and injury prone NO NO NO .
What do you mean, NO.?
He’s cheap. 😃
