How we rated the Hammers

|

ReidAdrian: A calm and collected presence on all occasions but little to do although one or two shots narrowly went the right side of the post 6

Tomkins: Outstanding performance and but for Reid would have been man of the match. You wonder why it’s taken log for us to come up with this tactical change. 8

Reid: Just as he was on the other side of the city of Manchester when we beat United’s neighbours, Reidy was totally the boss. Majorly important tackles and blocks as he held it all together back there. Outstanding 9

Ogbonna: Solid performance from the Italian who benefited from the calming presence of Reid. Had a couple of worrying moments and clearly needs more games but looked fine 7

Cresswell: Didn’t put a foot wrong throughout. Right back to his best defensively and offensively 8

Song:  Not surprisingly a tad off the pace after such a long lay off. Ok when playing the simple pass but probably unfair to judge so early into his comeback 5

Noble: Plenty of energy and came back well from the enforced absence of last week. No complaints about the skipper 7

Kouyate: Loads of all action stuff and always a presence 7

Moses: Shame about the injury – which looks like a hamstring – as he was having one of his more effective games until being forced to depart 7

Zarate Had he scored the simple chance he had more or less created himself it would have been a 9 performance. However, this was a fabulous display by and large – the real creative edge 8,

Carroll:  Full credit to the big man. He didn’t get a single aerial ball but linked the play, held the ball up well and showed great touch and determination. 7

Subs: Jenkinson (5), Obiang (6), Antonio (6)

Everyone has a different view on performance, but the last 2 weeks we could have had 6?ooints and deserved it,
The squad now is showing great depth, the defence looks so much better with Tomkins at right back Reid and Obgonna look like they will build a strong relationship,
Carroll played better today and linked well,Zarate looked class again,
Antonio could be just what we need he worked hard and when he gets used to the pace of the Premier he will be a great asset,
Still think Obiang should start alongside Kouyate not just for this year but they could be a great partnership for 8-10 years,
Looks good lets get behind them and become that 12th man they will need with all these injuries

Song was better than a 5, he brought a lot om composure to the midfield. Adrian made a terrific safe and was emense when they pushed forward, more than a 6.

This formation suits Andy a lot more and I hope we continue like this till our key players come back. I’m not convinced by Antonio’s performance on attack and thought he looked rather overwhelmed. He was a beast in the championship but will need to adapt his game for the league.

Great performance at the end and unlucky not to win! Manu might not be as dazzling as years gone by but they still get their points, I’m more than happy with our performance and a point at OT! COYI

Adrian made one save towards the end which if he hadn’t would have cost us the game. For that reason alone … 6? You’re having a laugh.

From being at the game, we delivered more more than I expected with the injuries we currently have. Lets start off with the 6 for Adrian? come on, he did nothing wrong, worth 7 or 8. Mark Noble as captain was superb, the pass to Moses was spot on, and he run well.

Agree Reid give everything, I would like to see Antonio given more match time, Carroll was better, but still not good enough for a top striker yet.

Nice to have a game which gets you home quickly living in the North West.

Antonio wll be very busy now that Moses is out with the hamstring ( probably weeks out ).
He can get better and better.
