How we rated the Irons

|

Hugh takes on the ratings job in Niall McDonald’s absence for the best league performance of the season

ReidyRandolph: Four or five top stops – what’s this nonsense about needing a stopper in the window 7

Nortveidt: Decent performance from the Norwegian. Like the rest of ’em, confidence growing 6

Reid: Great headed goal – terrific defending at times. What more can you ask for? 8

Ogbonna: Never seriously troubled but his clearances from back need to be more constructive 6

Cresswell: Got forward well as usual but too often and easily caught in possession 6

Kouyate: High energy performance with some penetrating runs back in his midfield slot 7

Noble: Skipper worked so hard and was always at the centre of action as we took control in midfield 7

Ayew: Grabbed the vital opener from a yard but failed to get onto AC’s great flick-ons an faded 5

Antonio: Fine goal but was never really at his best 6

Payet: Low level performance apart from the occasional dance into the box. Great corner for Reid’s goal 5

Carroll: Terrific performance, won everything in air…if only he had a proper partner to capitalise 7

Subs:

Feghouli: Arrived  late almost scored solo goal and set up Carroll’s strike so an above average mark 6

Fernandes: Came on for  Payet and was neat, creative and provided some telling passes 7

Fletcher: 90th minute sub for AC – no rating

I think people are being to harsh on both Payet and Ayew today. Payet was a delight to watch he just stands out from the rest his movement and distribution was class. Ayew was also working ever so tirelessly he had a good game. Noble and cresswell were poor.

    Sack Bilic,he is a fraud lol 😁😁😁
Defoe 6 million according to the rags.I would pay double that for him.He still has another 2 or 3 top seasons in him imho.He is a little pocket rocket 😉

    • GW says:

Rads Defoe will only want to sign for the true messiah at palace though according to 65 year old veteran Kevin the eagle lol 🙂

Lol yeah the messiah was true to form today in his post match interview. He managed to say “we respect the point” 😁😁

  • jj61 says:

just noticed that even without Costa, poor Batshauai can’t do more than a minute substitution…bet he already regret to sign to Chelski..

  • GW says:

No tirade about sacking Slav tonight and how The Dudley turd should be brought back asap eh Kevin 🙂

  • mooro66uk says:

Agree with 64. Sign Defoe and we have a proper sniper. Will get us at least 10 or 15 goals a season for next 2 years barring injuries.

  • Muckracker says:

I have said it before, and l say it again, Niall is ridiculous.

Slow-mo slowed the game down as usual, gave the ball away countless times, and if you look again, he was supposed to double team the player who crossed the ball for Swansea’s goal with Cressie, then he just stood and put his hands on his hip and allowed the player through into the penalty area….and still Niall rates him par with Randolph and the imperious Reid!!!

Now l have seen it all…

Another awful showing from Capt Terrible . How can these morons give him 7 , equal with Reid and Antonio . Do they not watch him waddling around in midfield hardly ever touching the ball as the game passes him by . He gives the ball away , gets caught in possession or passes back . He is holding us back . Awful .

      • Quite happy to allow you to take over for a couple of weeks Bubbles. I realise how bright you are and ratings are extremely simple where one is able to keep everybody happy. E mail me to let me know you are up for Leicester and United games OK?

    • HammerJeff says:

      Hugh did the ratings! 😉

  • englandsnumber6 says:

This wasn’t strictly ! Noble was a 4 at most gave the ball away 3 times and they almost broke and scored, i dnt care how hard he works he is the weak link and the reason we drop points. you can’t keep believing this BS from him pointing at space and passing backwards. being in a winning side doesn’t make you a SEVERRN

    • bubbles says:

Usual garbage from Capt Terrible spoilt an otherwise satisfactory display . 4 out of ten at best .

Well done on a great performance.Confidence as we all know is key in sport and there were glimpses of last season against a very poor Swansea.Nordveidt had his best game by a country mile and Carroll was Carroll,if we could sign a goal poacher to feed off him it could be a great second half of the season.Keep the faith.COYI.

  • Plaistow Pundit says:

  • MattyJL7 says:

Top performances from Reid, Carroll, Nobes & Nordveit. Nordy was really good for the Hammers today. MOTM = Mr Reid all day long. He’s a world class defender, and regularly MOTM IMO…
I’m sure i saw 2 strikers score for West Ham? Might be too much Xmas booze.. Nope! COYI

  • slaven a laugh says:
