  1. A joy to watch. We looked comfortable all the way. Antonio has taken his chance and couldn’t be making a better go of keeping his place. And Reid must be wondering how he gets back in now.

I’m reveling in the wonderful irony that since Payet has been out we’ve been terrible at crossing the ball. The game he comes back, we put in two of the best crosses of the season to score, neither from the man himself!

  2. Your like strictly Hugh giving Adrien a 7 I know he did not have that much to do but a keeper that has a clean sheet and makes no mistakes has to get at least 8.5
Valencia should have got an 8 as well ,
Payet might not have played the whole game but he should have got a 9 and a 10 for entertainment,
Klopp 5 must try better and shouting will get you know where,

  3. The one given for this game, for me, was the undeniable proof that Antonio should have been playing a lot, sooner.

  4. A week or two back many had written Antonio off as no good enough…. anyone still thinking the same???

  5. You lost me Hugh at the beginning and I am to happy to google anything today,
My wife thinks superlative keeps you regular
5.5 is good enough for me because that the alcohol value for San Miguel

    • FRaif you’ve lost me Bubs. What does this mean: “Your like strictly Hugh giving Adrien a 7 I know he did not have that much to do but a keeper that has a clean sheet and makes no mistakes has to get at least 8.5”

      • I think he’s accusing you of being a tight with the marks like on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ I agree with you Hugh. You can’t give Adrian more than 7 because he didn’t have much to do.

  6. One of the biggest pluses for this season IMO is that everyone has had a chance to play and prove themselves, although I think Slav was too slow in the case of Antonio and we likely could have turned a couple of those draws into 3 pointers with him in the side. Fortunately ( although that might seem an odd word to use in this context) the spate of injuries opened the door for him.
A couple of other observations. Valencia looks more and more like a playmaker (at which he looks fantastic)than an out and out striker. It almost seems we should swap him and Antonio.
I still remain to be convinced that Carroll isn’t more valuable as an impact sub but if he finally becomes the goal poacher everyone thought he would be, then I’ll be delighted to admit I was wrong.
As for today, there were some moments when we went back to those old days of sitting back and letting them have too much possession but our defence nullified every threat and Noble’s clearance off the line was one of the key plays made today. Had that gone in I believe we’d be talking about the three points we let slip away

  7. We’ve been in a negative mindset for a couple of months with all the missing players. That all changed against Liverpool. We went forward from the outset & were willing to try the opportunist balls instead of the safe passes & kicking it around waiting for something to happen. A real positive attitude that is infectious. We are an attacking side now & when we play like that, we win. If we can get this Byram from Leeds too, he is an attacking RB. Maybe we can’t catch Arsenal, but if we keep this spirit of belief going we are sure going to give it a shake. I don’t know how many times i said to the youngsters, football is 50% ability & 50% attitude & i genuinely believe that. Great result.
