How we rated the Irons against Arsenal

Hughie hands out his marks

Fabianski: Four very fine saves in an excellent performance. If only he would get rid of the ball quicker 8

Coufal: Not the same player as we saw last season. Gave a little more going forward that Johnson and provided the assist for the goal but looked lost on the ball at times 5+

Zouma: Quality stuff at the back and always keeps it simple – good to see him back 7

Cresswell: Defended well and did his best to get forward but was part of a slow slow counter attacking display

Fredericks: Some very ordinary sideways and backward passing – little else 3

Rice: Outstanding. Brilliant defensively and did his best to step up the tempo. 9

Noble: Decent performance from Mr West Ham particularly defensively 7

Fornals: Bits and pieces performance. When he’s good he’s very good – today no more than average 5

Lanzini: Left to mark  the scorers of first first and second goals; and had no chance given his size. Some neat passing but he has to be held responsible 4

Benrahma: Worked hard but sadly again couldn’t find the magic we are waiting for 6

Bowen: Grabbed his 16th goal of the season and gave a very lively performance 8

Subs:

Antonio: Arrived late – never really got into it 4

Soucek: Late arrival No rating

Yarmolenko: As above

  1. Benrahma…………….
    Waste of space
    Waste of time
    Waste of money
    Waste of a shirt

  2. Fabianski 8? Rooted to the spot for the first Arsenal goal and should have easily saved the second. Distribution was, as always, appalling. 4/10 at the very most.
