How we rated the Irons at Wolves

|

Hughie hands out the marks

Fabianski: Beyond the goal with which he had no chance a decent, if quiet, afternoon 6

Coufal: No complaints and a shame he saw one shot blocked when charging forward. 6

Aguerd: One of the few to impress. Two great blocks in particular and very good on the ball 7

Oggy: Problems with Dawson so the old lad got his chance and did little wrong 6

Cresswell: Didn’t contribute too much and looked as though he may have been out of position for the goal 4

Rice: Worked so hard as ever and had a couple of efforts from distance but beginning to look fed up with what’s happening around him 8

Soucek: He really isn’t up to much – no serious performance improvement 3

Fornals: Flashed in and out of the game but no real impact 4

Paqueta: One or two nice touches along with some sloppy passing  4

Bowen: He is so out of form – end of 3

Antonio: One decent run amid a pile of dross 3

Subs:

Benrahma: Couldn’t make the difference where it mattered in the final third 5

Scamacca: Should have appeared much earlier – looked one player who was on the case 7

DAVID MOYES: He gives the appearance of a man who has entirely run out of ideas. Impossible to understand why he continues to play Soucek and fails to start Brentford match winner Benrahma. How he manages to keep Antonio on when Scamacca looked a great alternative option is another head scratcher. He has bought eight new players to strengthen the squad and then fields eight who played virtually every game last season and still goes  with one up. His day is done and this should be it 1

A 3 for Antonio is too high. He used to be such a strong player: he could muscle the ball upfield and scrapped tooth and nail to keep possession. Now he relinquishes the ball when someone breathes on him.

Time not only to lose Moyes, but the Geriatric Fusiliers as well. Thanks for everything Gents but is time to go.

  • Hammers in the blood 1 says:

Soucek out Downs in his place and Moyes out

  • Clive says:

Top marks for Aguerd. What a signing. Played as well on the right side today as he did for Morocco in the works cup. Absolute quality.
