How we rated the mighty Irons

lanziniAdrian: Had little to do and was annoyed when getting a hand to the penalty but failing to keep it out 6

Jenkinson: Looked to be victim of a con job by Gayle for penalty. Did ok and good goal 6

Collins: Did well and as solid as ever for 80 per cent of the time but missed kick in front of goal to cause alarm and there’s always the odd moment 6

Tomkins: One of our best performers at the back this term and no complaints with this solid performance 7

Cresswell: Fine performance and linked with the front runners brilliantly 7

Kouyate Energetic performance as ever and got through a tremendous amount of work 7

Noble: More than satisfactory outing and only came off when Slav decided to go 4-4-2  7

Moses Lots of good runs and always causing problems 7

Lanzini: This lad really is something else, scored one and assisted the last – superb 9,

Payet You’re surprised when he misplaces the odd pass – mark of a fabulous player. Great goal, top performance 9

Sakho Worked his socks off, hit the post and always a menace 7

Subs:

Carroll (7), Zarate (6), Jelavic (5)

Man of the match: Manuel Lanzini

  1. Lanzini is class. It was fitting he broke the deadlock and the pass to put Payet in at the end was sublime. What a find.

  2. Even with claret and blue glasses on the penalty was stonewall, just a stupid, rash and unnecessary challenge by Jenkinson who should know better by now after having caused another stupid penalty previously this season.
    A penalty all day long.
No doubt as well about the Palace sending off.

  3. Thanks to slav,i have forgotten what its like to loose away from upton park……i cant even remember what the last manager looked like or what his name was,but i do remember who i wished was manager……..so glad i was careful. That last bloke who was in charge should really think about retirement…..he is now the manager at the stadium of snores.

  4. perfect assessment Hugh, especially the bit about the con-job for their penalty.
I’m always amazed by Lanzinis tireless running and endless pace. He never seems to need much of a breather. Put that with his skill and technique, and I hope our option to buy is so embarrasing that all the other clubs are sick as proverbial parrots.

  5. Gayle stitched him up good & proper for the penalty.Little b*stard.

  6. Hamburg that’s another example of the West Ham Way,admitting when we have done something wrong and getting over it,
Well deserved win over one of the clubs that will be hard to beat this season,
    Get Lanzini signed up NOW
TOP London club for a little while

  7. Yeah for about another 10mins bubs, hahaha. But i can live with 4th place tonight with only the two Mancs & the Gooners above us.Meanwhile Hippohead sits 2nd from bottom, lol.Life is good 😀

  8. Yeah, Gayle wanted that penalty for sure the way he set the challenge up. But Jenkinson is experienced enough. He should know to be a bit more careful with any kind of challenge while inside his own box.

  9. Only a 6 for Ginge? MOTM for me! 🙂

  10. I agree, Definitely not a penalty. jerks was going to clear the ball and Gayle through himself across the front of Jenks looking for the penalty. Ref was conned into giving it.

  11. Threw

  12. There were no 6 rated players out there today. All 7’s at least.
