Huge Paqueta/Vlasic shock

|

Lucas Paqueta became the second of six Hammers to exit the World Cup as Brazil were sensationally knocked out by Croatia on penalties this afternoon (Fri)

And the wicked irony was that the club’s record signing will now be on his way back to England whilst on loan Nikola Vlasic heads into a semi final.

Paqueta played his part for Brazil by producing the assist for Netmar’s opening goal in extra time nut with only four minutes remaining, the Croats equalised.

Paqueta joins Germany’s Thilo Kehrer as players to have exited the competition although  Declan Rice (England), Alphone Areola (France) and Nayef Aguerd (Morocco) are all attempting to join Croatia – and Vlasic in the semis.

All three are in action tomorrow (Saturday) when Morocco tackle Portugal at 3pm and England face France in the early evening, at 7pm.

You have to say that the only thing that Vlasic actually did was to score the first penalty for Croatia – mind you he did it with some style! 👍
