Hull City and Swansea City are weighing up a contract for former Hammer Diego Poyet, sources close to the player have told ESPN. Poyet is a free agent after cancelling his contract at West Ham by mutual consent on transfer deadline day last summer.
West Ham beat a number of Premier League clubs to sign Poyet in 2014 after he impressed for Charlton Athletic in the Championship, the Hammers paid around £500,000 to avoid a tribunal set a fee and he signed a four year contract but he failed to impress in East London and was later released from his contract. He made just three first team appearances for the Hammers.
He was loaned to Huddersfield Town, Milton Keynes Dons and Charlton Athletic during his time with the Irons
The 21-year-old son of Gus Poyet has been without a club since the summer but is desperate to continue his footballing career with a Premier League team.
