Humble hat-trick hero speaks plus all the goals

Humble London Stadium hat-trick hero Antonio Martinez told West Ham TV cameras “Yeah I feel delighted after today, I am really happy to get my first hat-trick this season but I think the most important thing today is the team work and the performance. I am proud of everyone. Everyone played perfectly. I think we did everything good and I very proud of everyone!”

  1. Surely with Carroll now suspended its time to get this lad on the bench at least against Brighton. What more does he need to do.?

    • Couldn’t agree more, massive step and all that but he has the physique to handle himself and he can score all sorts of goals, give him a chance hopefully he will fly, the youth team are actually playing the type of football the first team should be, freeflowing fast one touch football with lots of passing and movement, if they can take Utd’s u23’s apart has to bode well for us in the future, we just need to provide them avenues into our first team. I watched on the PL show the documentary about Southampton’s academy was interesting that they actively create a “pathway” for each player to progress through the various levels and even help them to find clubs if they are not good enough.

  2. I think we have our potential 20 goals per season player. Getting close to a call up, don’t you think ?

  3. Agree 64 & 32. And it not like he just started scroring been banging them in since he came from Valencia. Two goal Toni. Hopefully they will get one of this young English strikers we are looking at to cover him in U23s and he can rotate up to PL sqaud more. Kid has talent & work ethic think being around the likes of Antonio & Chicharito would be great for him

  4. Just keep doing what he’s doing and they can’t ignore him !! A very good talent , I’ve watched the lad a few times now , v Liverpool he was not at it a bit hot and cold , he’s still very young
And when he’s hot he’s very good , still learning but a talent to bring on defiantly for the future
But not ready yet IMO , give him a crack in cup games if we can and in the league even to give him a taste but like all talented young ones they seem to get overlooked in today’s game
Unless you’re a rashford type it is generally hard for them ! Fingers crossed for the kid though
And keep doing what he’s doing is the advise he should be given and be patient !😀

    • Laz is he or others from the Academy going to get an opportunity under Bilic? I see also the Club rate Quina to sign. What’s the point if they aren’t getting on the pitch.Yet the same useless articles like Carroll, Ayew etc are prioritized. If Klopp from Liverpool was manager half the current side wouldn’t be getting regular games.IMHO.

  5. Good question roman ? Hard one to answer , but IMO not many if any will break through !! Rice , oxford maybe even the kid were talking about now ! You never know !! And you ain’t wrong about klopp or any of the top shop bosses ! Its self evident for me lol😉

  6. Bilic has been instrumental in getting Rice into the first team, and would have had Quina in there if he hadn’t had so many injuries lately. He won’t take chances with boys who only have potential, but when the real deal comes along he gives them a big chance.
Oxford also had that chance, but obviously needed more game-time on loan before he got more first team minutes. 9 months of loans later and only 2 starts, so Bilic was right that he was not ready.
All that makes me very sure that Martinez will be on our bench on Friday night, unless there is another striker about to sign. If he comes on and gets a large chunk of luck, he could be a hero and get a boost to his progress. He won’t be ignored.

  7. Yes fishes ? Then crucified rice and used him as a scapegoat lol! Martinez won’t be on the bench Friday IMO but maybe Fernandez as he’s a bilic favourite even though he ain’t ready ?

    • Well Fernandes is a great young player, but as for Rice I must admit that unlike you I was not in the changing room at half-time.
If I had been then I would be able to say wether Rice was in any condition to continue in the second half. When he made his big mistake he was obviously devastated trying to bury his head into the pitch, and even pushing Hart away who was ony trying to pull him out of his embarassment. But you were there in the changing room to hear the nasty man Bilic being horrid to the poor boy. Actually he probably did him a massive favor by taking him out of the firing line for his own good.
Not that I’m supporting Bilic at this moment, but you do seem to go into fairy about these things.
