Clearly there’s still hope burning bright in the West Ham camp. One look at the table and the remaining fixtures suggests there’s a mountain to climb to leap from Tottenham, but from the words coming out of West Ham United, there’s a huge battle yet to be fought and no talk of accepting the hope that ‘ The Great Escape 2.0‘ has slipped away after the results of last weekend.

Axel Disasi reveals genuine affection for West Ham United – and a ‘never say die’ attitude

Hugely surprising results for Tottenham and Nottingham Forest pushed West Ham back down into the relegation zone: Fans have been reminded by loanee Axel Disasi’s words that there may yet be more surprises in store ahead of the 24th May finale. He may be a Chelsea loanee but Disasi clearly has huge admiration and affection for his East London temporary home.

The centre back has come out with some fighting talk and a vow to West Ham fans that’ll convince even those – like me who fear the worst – that the season’s outcome is far from done and dusted.

As reported by twitter account @Hammer_on_X:

“I take this mission personally, because I want to give back that love and respect that everyone has shown me. Again, we have three games to go, and I will fight until the end to make sure we achieve our objective.”

Fighting talk and proof of the reality. The task to win sufficient points to overhaul Tottenham, with games against Arsenal, Newcastle United and Leeds, may be huge. But Disasi adamantly believes it can be done.

Respect to him. Just wish he’d have joined us last September and then the Hammers wouldn’t be in this mess.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Wolves and Villa wins maybe good for morale (and points) but unrealistic for Spurs revival.
    They weren’t tested in either.
Whu have much better form and can dampen spirits of Spurs fans.
Leeds / Chelsea / Everton need to kick some arse yes it’s back to relying on others.
This coupled with desire might just pull whu through.

Let’s hope the rest of his team mates are up for the fight as well?
Perhaps he should be handed the captains arm band for the last 3 games, he might be able to give the team some verbal and make everyone pull their weight.
Come on boys let’s see some real fight and save or wonderful club and make us fans really happy.
    Come on you Irons

at 5/1 against, if I were you I’d stick a £20 on that hunch then…

  • Darkhorse says:

Nuno should think seriously making Disasi captain for the remaining three games. Without any doubt he improved performances from Mav. and with his attitude he may well improve the team’s performance overall

  • Peter whu's cunning plan says:

Everything is possible, but Bowen looks tired and no matter how much he is willing, he has lost that spark, that extra yard, because we have no adequate 1 for 1 replacement.

Now with those good words, it is sods law that he will score a hattrick and prove me completely wrong – let’s hope!! 😊
