I’m Guido Rodriguez “Get me out of here!”

With recent news suggesting that Guido Rodriguez has instructed his agents to find him a club in the January transfer window, a number of sources have stated that his contract is a one year deal that ends in June 2025, and not a two year deal which was reported by SKY.  Though Claret & Hugh have confirmed via our top source the player signed a two year contract, with an option for a third year.

He is also reportedly earning £75k a week salary, whereas at Real Betis his salary was allegedly £27,170 a week.
C&H can confirm that the Argentinian international received a signing on fee when he joined West Ham, as he was a Bosman free transfer. He was linked to Fenerbahce before West Ham pounced, with the Turkish club put off by his demands for a minimum three year contract and €4 million signing on fee and €3m salary.
Upon joining the Hammers in August , Rodriguez said “It’s a historic club that has a really interesting project. I think it’s the right club for me at the right time, and I hope together we can keep growing”
Three months later, he is trying to force through a move, with his eyes on a return to Real Betis.
With eleven games under his belt he has looked off the pace and has already accumulated three yellow cards. His poor form has seen him dropped from the Argentinian national squad.
West Ham will either look to get a transfer fee, or for any loan there won’t be any similar deals on the table such as the one agreed with Real Sociedad regarding  Nayef Aguerd.
The Moroccan centre back is ripping up La Liga and his Spanish team are only paying a £1.6m loan fee with the Hammers picking up a large percentage of his £64k a week salary.
There will be a number of questions as to why so many overseas players have failed to settle at West Ham, and it does suggest that the club should be looking to promote home grown talent whilst also increasing their coverage of players in the Championship and lower leagues.
Sadly there seems to be a long list of high profile players that simply don’t want to be at West Ham, which even pre-dates Julen Lopetegui.
Players will come and go, yet with such negativity this won’t reflect well on the pitch and indeed results.

I have been a season ticket holder since the late eighties, so experienced the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter. I previously wrote for OLAS and have contributed to a number of football publications in the past.

Totally agree with Hendo ,Kudus in central midfield and pac man benched when kudus, s ban over we need to keep him happy for the remainder of the season ,then who knows what could happen

I agree with EssexIron67 that JL must go asap & that Guilherme should start. To accomodate him I think Bowen would need to move to central attack with Cyrencio & Guilherme wide & Antonio available from the bench to come on in any of the 3 attacking roles.

This means Kudus can be moved to his favoured central midfield role after dropping Pacqueta. When Kudus signed it was reported that he’d asked Tim if he could play there baring in mind Pacqueta was already at the club & apparently he was assured that would not be an issue although of course Tim doesn’t select the team. If that was indeed a condition of Kudus signing then his being played as a left wing must add to his frustration

Why did we have to let some of our young talented midfielders go out on loan, Potts ,earthy etc I’m sure they would be putting in better performances than our midfield misfits. They must have more pace than our 1st choices and they would be desperate to impress. We need to start introducing our top talent, I think I can run faster than Rodriguez and I’m 68 and please give the Brazilian wonder kid a chance as I’m sure he would be better than others in the side . Newcastle and Arsenal probably no points but you never know but clueless J’Lo has got to go sooner rather than later.

I fully agree with Matt’s sentiments in his 8:37 post.

I read an interview with the manager of another club who said the most difficult task in management when starting at a new club was selling existing players rather than buying new ones.

Matt Kemp’s article observes that many players want to leave the club. They always cite home-sickness or wanting to play at a Champions League club even though “they love the Hammers’ fans”. I don’t believe these motivations! Most of them don’t want to waste anymore of their careers playing a brand of football instigated by DM / JL but to publicly say that reduces their chance of being bought by another club as they’ll be viewed as troublemaking whingers. I can’t blame them.

We all know JLo signed this shambles!

JLo / Moyes and Sully are responsible for signing players on big wages and lengthy contracts that make the task of jogging them on impossible unless at a big loss!

Zouma, Vlasic, Haller, Ings and now Rodriguez!
