Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville is expected to sign for West Ham today, and the club are also very close an agreement for the transfer of Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
That’s the latest breaking news update from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who has been closely following West Ham transfer news over the past few days.
Despite Plettenberg calling for caution last night regarding the Summerville transfer, it now appears that everyone agrees the deal is close to completion.
Speaking on his X account, Plettenberg provided the following update: “West Ham is still working on total agreements with Leeds and Manchester Utd to finalise the deals with Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Wan-Bissaka!
Both players are keen to join with immediate effect.
West Ham is also pushing to sign Niclas Füllkrug or Jhon Duran. Füllkrug remains their No. 1 striker target. Contact with BVB is ongoing, and Dortmund is willing to sell Füllkrug, with West Ham offering €25m all-in as revealed. Poker ongoing.”
While there is still a note of caution attached to his update, most other commentators and insiders expect the deal for the Dutchman to be completed today.
Really? I want to see him photographed in the shirt before midnight.
It worries me that these transfers are dragging on now, & that we have undercut all 4 bids from what selling clubs want. Plus there’s still a central defender & central midfielder to get in, even after we finally sort these 4 deals out. Need to get a move on Sullivan.
There’s clearly a reason which we don’t know about for the fact that everyone is giving Toney a wide berth.
Didn’t he say he wanted to go to the Spuds
27 to 28 is considered the prime age for footballers Stringer and getting Toney is a no brainer for me
is it just me who is completely mind blown at the fact we havent gone for Ivan Toney??
your talking about 25mil for a german striker Niclas Füllkrug unproven in the prem and 32 years old.
i thought the idea was to build for the future and get the average age of the squad down?
Ivan Toney ticks all the boxes for me and is surely in that price bracket
any thoughts?
Surprised too that Ivan Toney has not been in the picture when comes down to us signing a proper striker. Think he is 28 which most experts say is a prime age for a player and a proven Premier League striker. Does’nt seem to lack confidence either. Bearing in mind that recent striking signings have hardly set the world alight – would be reasonably confident he would buck that trend.
Your 💯 right Charlie. Ivan Toney takes our forward line to the next level. The problem though I think and would like to know what you think is that we were offered him for 10 mil by Barry Fry when he was at Peterborough but Sullivan said No so I reckon he won’t go for him for that very same reason as it would make him look like a bit of an idiot
I know where you’re coming from but unfortunately they have to suck it up on this one. In nowadays market, 25mil isn’t much of a step up from 10mil and at the time he wasn’t proven in the premier league. He is now. We all know he’s had his troubles but i don’t doubt that’s well behind him and he’s matured enough now to concentrate on what’s important.
The board are clearly not interested in him and maybe I’m living in a dream world but I would offer Brentford £15-£20mil and tell them to keep him on loan till January. It covers there injury issues and commits him to West Ham before he goes to some other club next year on the free!
Would love to know people’s thoughts on that.
It’s dragging on a bit fir my liking now….just waiting for a gazump from someone..especially the longer it takes 🙄
Let’s hope so.
Kip, with all due respect, you may need some lessons in optimism. i know the response to that is “but this is West Ham”, but every transfer windrow is exactly like this one. none of us really know what’s going on until it’s done. the club are right to confuse everyone and play their real cards close to their chest. they don’t OWE any of us information. i’ve been laughing my botty off for 6 weeks at how worked up our fans get – spitting bile about Sully,
saying we’re a laughing stock, etc, etc. you know how it all ends? we get our business done, players come in (some work out, some don’t) and some players leave. season begins. there is nothing we can do but watch and wait. no point in pulling your hair out, if you’ve still got any. i been a Hammer for nearly 50yrs and have learned to just enjoy the sh*t show i have no control over. still have all my hair too!
