Alongside the likely departure of Lucas Paqueta, it seems another West Ham player may be heading out to Brazil in the next few days if today’s report is correct.

Once West Ham have agreed to the bid, made by Brazilian side Gremio, currently sitting twelfth in the Brazilian Serie A league, it seems likely that West Ham’s Guido Rodriguez will be on his way.

Yesterday’s appearance as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur appears to have been the Argentine’s claret and blue swansong. So say sportwitness.co.uk, indicating that the Brazilian side are hugely confident that their €3 million bid will be accepted for Rodriguez:

“The directors at the Porto Alegre club [Gremio] remain ‘highly optimistic’ due to Rodríguez’s apparent willingness to join them. They see the Argentine as the ideal pillar for their defensive system. The arrival of a World Cup winner would represent a huge leap in quality for them.

If West Ham accept the proposal, which is expected, Rodríguez could travel in the coming days for his medical.

Finally it seems Rodriguez’ stay at London stadium is over

Which would be another of the ill-fated ‘class of ’24‘ – the Lopetegui-Steidten intake – that has cost the club so much and delivered so little. From the ten, only Wan Bissaka Todibo and Summerville have so far lived up to expectations with Mohamadou Kanté looking a good bet:

A 40% hit rate on transfers leaves a lot to be desired.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

I hope there is truth in this one. He would not even have made a substitute appearance in the Red Lion Sunday team, so never having to read his name on a team sheet again will be such a relief.

It will be interesting to see if Nuno decides to keep him or not. Does Nuno feel that the player make a relevant contribution in the survival fight ahead? Selling him probably will not bring in that much money.

No problem amount of replacements queuing up to join whu.
With managements speedy actions when buying.

Another Steidten disaster, no wonder Moyes didn’t want to stay with Terrible Tim having final say on transfers

Rodrigues , don’t let the door hit you on the way out .

Todibo and Summerville are only just beginning to show their value, let’s not get carried away quite yet!

Compare that 40‰ to Sullivan’s choices please.
Everything is relative and there were many other Steidten recommendations that weren’t followed through with. Guido was pretty much an afterthought once Sullivan closed the chequebook.

Good comment Irish Hammer – what is wrong at West Ham in the Sullivan era is that different signings are attributed to different individuals – the summer of 2024 epitomized that – Kilman for Loppy, Guillerme for Tim and Summerville for Sully

We will only start progressing when we have a management TEAM as opposed to different individuals in a game of one upmanship
