Impressive ‘forgotten man’ may get Hull call-up!

|

nortHavard Nortveidt has pushed himself into contention for a place in the Hammers line up against Hull this weekend following an impressive display for Norway in midweek.

The midfielder has had little chance to perform in his natural role this season and has made just 11 appearances for the team at Premier League level.

Most of those have been as sub or at right back but now with the injury crisis facing the club he could be called up as a midfield reinforcement.

The Irons need to be very strong defensively against a side that has been in good form at home over recent games, which has included wins over Liverpool and Man U included .

His holding abilties in front of the back four with Noble and Kouyate alongside is likely to be a formation very much in the manager’s mind.

An insider said: “He was very impressive in Norway’s 2-0 defeat and has to be an option, surely.”
