Hammer gets his move to prove himself
Wycombe Wanderers have secured the loan signing of West Ham winger Gideon Kodua until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old showcased his skills by scoring for West Ham U21s in their Bristol Street Motors Trophy match against Wycombe on Tuesday. I had the opportunity to witness his performance first-hand at Adams Park, and he consistently posed a threat throughout the game, where he took his chance to score impressively.
Kodua appeared to be the player most physically equipped to transition from U21 to senior football. The EFL Trophy match was both spirited and feisty, and I thought Kodua handled the challenge admirably. It would not be surprising to see the winger thrive at this excellent club.
In the previous season, Kodua captained West Ham’s U18s to FA Youth Cup victory, contributing a goal in the 5-1 triumph over Arsenal in the final.
He will reunite with West Ham teammate Freddie Potts, who is also on loan at the League One club, Wanderers.
