With the focus clearly on player sales this summer, several high profile Hammers will likely be departing: First more than likely will be Mateus Fernandes, owing to lack of any involvement in the World Cup. Once the window opens in two weeks’ time, Manchester United appear to be at the head of the queue for Fernandes’ signature but they’ll have to meet West Ham’s valuation.
Other player sales will follow – Crysencio Summerville probably not until the World Cup is done and dusted. Quite who will be left at the club for the new season at this stage is anyone’s guess. All this talk of dismantling last seasons expensively assembled, failed squad is a little depressing.
However, there is some good news for Hammers supporters. The increased reports of links with ‘Championship-level’ players has grown considerably in the last couple of days, suggesting that belatedly plans are afoot to build a squad ready for 70 days time. Of course, sales will need to come first to pay down debt and fund acquisitions: This is West Ham after all – but it seems the Irons are now, finally, playing catch up.
Earlier today we covered the links with Celtic’s young striker Callum Osmand: Another north of the border talent is reported today by footballfancast.com who suggest the Hammers also have their eye on a Hibernian midfielder:
“West Ham make contact to sign 23 year-old who’s been dubbed the next Gareth Bale”
The Irons have submitted an enquiry for Hibernian midfielder Josh Mulligan. The 23 year-old joined Hibs from Dundee FC last summer and was a fixture in the side, starting 21 times in the Scottish Premiership before an ankle injury disrupted his season.”

Midfielder Josh Mulligan
Along with fresh reports that The Hammers are interested in Sunderland’s Eliezer Mayenda and Sheffield United’s Harrison Burrows, there’s clearly a behind-the-scenes plan to recruit to replace the expected summer exodus. And at least give Nuno a fighting chance of assembling a squad ready to challenge in the Championship.
Of course, how long it takes the Hammers to get deals over the line depends on how long it takes for their own player sales to kick in. Don’t hold your breath on that one, likely it’ll all be last-minute come the end of July. But at least it seems behind the closed doors of the recruitment department, someone is finally stirring.
Who is picking these so called wanted players?
This is no different to premier league linked to every mother and her son.
As there is no DoF (as yet or if ever) it must be club, Sullivan/Kretinsky/Nuno.
If Summerville is going replacement needs to have explosive speed.
Reduce list to 4 or 5 players to cover needed positions and get them signed.
Roll on eleventh hour of transfer period.
Usual chaos at West Ham. Nothing will change until all of the board go. Obviously Sully is the most urgent to get rid of but DKs big promise of DOF seems to be another hollow promise as surely they would have had someone in mind
Any chance you could go back to having

Thank you
There’s only 1 thing i’m a 100 % sure of and that is, if Sullivan stays we’re not gonna bounce straight back up into the premiership 4 a few years if ”EVER” and what was the point of Kretinsky buying shares in West-Ham if he’s just gonna turn his back on us when we need him the most ”Right-Now” a couple of hundred mill and a good word in the ears of our main three players we ”MUST-HOLD-ONTO” being Bowen, Fernandes amd Summerville. we could buy Disasi we could build a good team around them 2 get straight back up into the top-flight at the first time of asking. C O Y I’s
Just don’t let our top players go for peanuts, get as much as we can and value them at and they can take it or leaves it
We got Daniel Cummings from Celtic. Total waste of time. This guy will probably go the same way
How we rejoiced at the statement from the club stating that promised restructuring was a priority only 10 days ago, now it appears they are jettisoning that promise and going full steam ahead with business as usual. It’s looking more and more likely that Sulli and mendes will control transfer business and any technical director or DoF (if they even bother to bring one in) will just be a shield for sulli to hide behind when his ineptitude is exposed yet again. We aren’t hearing about kretinsky being more involved any more and I wonder if this was simply more gaslighting to help dispel the fans immediate anger of relegation? The phrase “when they show you what they are, believe them the first time” never felt more prescient
