The first half saw the Hammers go behind and only then start to motor as Taty Castellanos hit the woodwork three times and Mavropanos have a goal chalked off for the slimmest offside decision – an elbow, I believe.
Unfortunately for the Irons, early in the first half Pablo was through on goal but had zero pace, zero touch and zero know-how to use his body and the forward failed to even get a shot away.

Realistically, West Ham could have gone in at half time three-one up: Instead of which the Hammers were behind and went further into arrears as Diouf slid into an ill-judged challenge and Outtara duly fell into his outstretched legs for the penalty.
Why, then Nuno, decided to take off Castellanos after just one hour and leave on Pablo – for the second week running – nobody knows except the Irons boss himself.

Late on, Pablo was a lucky boy to stay on the pitch after a terrible challenge on Jensen – his usual divers’ boots touch rather than any obvious malicious intent probably saving Craig Pawson reaching for his pocket. On first evidence – judge for yourselves tonight on MOTD – everything seemingly hinged on ‘that’ 60th minute decision to take off the Hammers’ decent striker who’d thrice hit the wood work in the first half – and leave on the YTS trainee instead.

Taty was getting frustrated had already been booked for a bad tackle so I suspect it was because he could see him getting sent off.
I like Nuno and of late he has done well but he wasted too many opportunities to get going at the start of his reign….inverted full backs, keeping Pablo in the XI is another example. I called we would go down and on balance over the season we deserve to.
Whilst we were a little unlucky yesterday with hitting the woodwork etc and the marginal offside decision against us we could still have got something out of the game had our defending not lapsed back to early season levels. As highlighted on MOTD by Rooney, all 3 goals were preventable. We just cannot afford to do this in any of our 3 remaining games.

Absolutely the correct decision to take him off . He had just been booked and was about to lose the plot. A three game ban was looming and Wilson can only contribute for 30 mins .

I’m afraid Nuno has no tactical ability, He persists time and time again keeping players on the pitch who are not performing. He rarely substitutes any player to around the 70 minute mark. we are now relying on Spurs results

They’re a League One-sized club. They don’t seem to have any trouble identifying and signing high quality players at the fraction of what we’re paying.
