Injured Hammer making good progress

|

David Moyes has revealed that Nayef Aguerd is back on grass and making decent progress towards a Hammers Premier League debut.

And the manager has also explained that there is an outside chance the Morroco international may be ready to join his nation’s World Cup squad.

The £30 million signing was injured in pre-season when making a recovery tackle after making a poor intended back pass, but Moyes is hopeful we will soon see him back.

He told reporters:  “He’s back, he’s out doing some light running, he’s still feeling his ankle is stiff because he’s only just started running. It is his first part of running outside.

He’s done a lot through the gym work and rehab work but he’s on the grass which for us, is a hope. For him as well, we want him back obviously for West Ham as quick as we can, he’s obviously trying to get himself fit to get to the World Cup with Morocco as well.

Both of those go hand in hand really.
