Injured Liverpool star aims for Hammers clash

Trent Alexander-Arnold has set his sights on a Liverpool return for the game against the Hammers this Sunday.

He was missing for team’s win last weekend having pulled out of the Three Lions squad over the  international break with a hamstring problem.

Liverpool take on LASK in their first group game of the Europa League game but according to The Athletic he will miss the game after failing to train on Wednesday but wants to be ready for Sunday.

He trained alone at Kirby on the day and will not fly with the squad to Austria to take part in Thursday evening’s match.

However, while Liverpool hope he have some part to play against the Hammers they will not take any risks if he is not fully fit.

It is also reported that Liverpool will still be without Thiago Alcantara for Thursday’s game as he continues to nurse a hip issue.
