Injury-hit Tottenham rushing through new signing ahead of crucial West Ham derby

This ‘crucial’ derby in North London on Saturday is actually ‘crucial’ to both sides. For those who have not been paying attention, Tottenham are in a tailspin themselves and Thomas Frank is under huge pressure with the game being described by Sky Sports as a ‘must win’ for the embattled manager (Where have we heard that before).

Nuno’s West Ham must themselves build on the momentum from the Queens Park Rangers cup victory and go to Spurs’ stadium without fear: The Spuds don’t have a good home record right now with just two wins this season in front o their now fans: Sound familiar? Several key injuries to starting XI players has affected their form and now, as with West Ham, they are trying to rush through transfers for the second half of the season.

A familiar face, once linked with West Ham ( but from memory he was one of ‘the many’ who has turned down a move to east London) is being rushed through in time for the London Derby, according to the standard.co.uk:

“Standard Sport understands that former Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is due in England on Tuesday morning to undergo a medical with Spurs and complete his £34.6million move from Atletico Madrid.”

As West Ham are coming to terms with the likely loss of their leading midfield playmaker, Spurs are signing their own talented attacking player in time to take the pitch against the Hammers. Sadly, no such likelihood of the Hammers bringing in their own recruits ahead of the Saturday afternoon clash.

Whilst the Irons have their injury problems with no Mavropanos,  Tottenham face a far sterner test – which is why they’re rushing through the Gallagher deal; Richarlison, Destiny Udogie, Lucas Bergvall, Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulisevski, James Maddison, Kota Takai and of course Mohammed Kudus are all ruled out injured whilst Pape Sarr is still at AFCON.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Hopefully Conor starts against us and Tottenham are in total chaos. Conor would be some kind of wonderplayer if he was to inspire Spurs to a winning performance on debut.

Can’t see him suddenly being that good. It will be up to us if we want to win or just go through the motions.

Come on Irons – make it happen.

Conor Gallagher exactly the type of midfielder and character that WHU need in midfield and right age too, at 25. There would be real competition for starting places with a player of his quality, would serve as a good mentor to the youngsters and be a leader on a pitch.

Obviously he can pick and choose & would not come to WHU – get to it Mendes😊

Is it not possible for us to buy Eric Dyer from Monaco and get him registered in time to play against his old club on the weekend? COYI !
