Injury update on Noble, Fredericks and Ogbonna

West Ham’s ‘injured’ players – Mark Noble, Ryan Fredericks and Angelo Ogbonna – are set to be involved in the squad for the pre-season friendly against Athletico Bilabao on Saturday – and possibly for the game against Hertha Berlin in midweek.

All were uninvolved yesterday against Fulham but we understand all the issues are nearly less than minor but the  manager was unprepared to take a chance on any of them at this stage.

We were told by a senior source on the phone this morning that the captain is suffering from a dead leg whilst Fredericks felt a groin but should be ok for the London Stadium match whilst Ogbonna has a sore back.

Fredericks will be looking to reclaim his right back from Ben Johnson although he is being put under big pressure from the teenager who hasn’t put a foot wrong during his impressive pre-season.

He was back in his favoured right sided role yesterday having been used at left back for previous games.

Aaron Cresswell returned to left back yesterday and was handed the armband in the absence of Noble which may have represented a move by the manager to help inspire a form recovery!

  1. Any news on why Reid wasn’t in the squad?

  2. Ben Johnson has great potential, blinkers off though please, misplaced passes, out of position and crosses not up to standard in all the games that he has played in, he is only 19 he will improve. At present an “in-form” Cresswell and Fredericks are better options.
