Insider hints at incoming right back identity

|

boleyninsiderThe club’s secret insider has been hinting about an incoming right back.

The insider said “With just hours until the transfer window closes, the Insider can reveal that the Hammers have made a major breakthrough in their attempts to bring in another big name signing. The Insider revealed yesterday that the Club were hopeful of signing another right back today and it seems they are edging closer to getting their man.My sources confirmed to me that a top Spanish World Cup winning defender is due to undergo a medical this afternoon and will hopefully put pen to paper before the 11pm deadline. The player has a wealth of experience, has won honours at domestic and international level and has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.”

That Spanish world cup defender is though to be Alvaro Arbeloa who paid for Liverpool and Real Madrid as well as Spain in 2010 World Cup. The free agent is understood to be undergoing a medical at the Spire Roding hospital.

JackThe insider also confirms we were never interested in Jack Wilshere adding

“Transfer deadline day always provides a few shocks along the way and there was a major surprise when reports stated that Arsenal were preparing to allow Jack Wilshere to make a loan move away from the north London Club.I have been told that the Club believe Jack Wilshere is a fantastic player, but that is not a position they are looking to strengthen at the moment.”

The insider finishes his briefing with confirming that that a few players should be leaving the club.

“As suggested in the media, there could still be some players leaving the Club on loan before the transfer window closes, but whufc.com will be the only place for confirmation of any ins and outs throughout the evening.”

Those players are expected to be loan moves Pedro Obiang completing a move to Italy with an option to buy, Enner Valencia to Swansea on loan with an option to buy and Doneil Henry to AC Horsens in Denmark.

We have blacked out the insider’s eyes to protect his identity

What’s not to like.We get an experienced rb option/cover.He can aid Byrams development & he will only be with us for one season. Then if needed or Byram doesn’t cut it,he will though imo we buy next summer.Im glass half full on this one.Cant really see any negatives. He doesn’t even have a poor injury record so for us that is a massive plus 🙂

Just saw on Sky that they think he is having a medical on a one year deal but we don’t see him as a replacement for Byram but more a mentor.Makes sense to me.

We already have one good young player in Byram, if it is Arbeloa at 33 he won’t be playing every game and he has a wealth of experience especially of winning trophies, everyone says he is a top professional, as he has been without a club it will be interesting to see how soon he will be ready for first team action but he is a big name signing that hopefully can be another big player for us, I am excited about it and think it will be good for Byram if he joins because he can learn a lot from him, also if Oxford breaks into the first team it would be good for him also to play alongside Ovbonna and Arbeloa 🙂 hopefully it will go through COYI !!!

Arbeloa umm… I think I would prefer the young lad from Wolves – him and Byram could share the right-back role with Byram as the senior man.

It seems obvious that Bilic doesn’t fully trust him – he’s played a couple of times at right-back, played at left- back and been dropped against Man City – I don’t really see what he’s done wrong, a couple of rash challenges but apart from that he’s been good.

I agree MM. I just don’t see why Bilic doen’t trust/like Byram. Doesn’t seem to have an attitude problem; always seems to have done v well…Like the whole Antonio debacle, leaves me scratching my head; just don’t get it.
I’m always a bit wary of signing players over 30-31. Never seem to work out; Nene was so slow even mum 90 year old Mum could have whistled past him (and unlike Sheringham – who WAS brilliant), he was not clever enough to compensate, Diarra…Those are the flops I can think of…Just wonder if Arbeloa will have his heart in it, especially if he finds himself on the bench…How can he not think “Benchwarming at a club that can’t even get in the Champs League; I was a World Cup WINNER; is this what am reduced to?”…Whereas, youthful players are keen to prove themselves….Iorfa would be my pref, even if he lacks experience….
Nige Winterburn was brilliant as I remember (esp considering he was ex-Arsenal too!!), so Maybe Arbeloa would be good for a while….I hope so.
Whatever, I have my wish that we have a replacement RB in 1 form or another…and overall, all things considered, its been a v good transfer window.

      Great profile picture.

I kinda like the idea of all the arty types spending years debating over whether Munch was trying to capture “man’s inner struggle, blah, blah” when really he was just another West Ham fan doing a little court-ordered anger management art therapy.

nothing original from me I nicked it off somebody – the juxtaposition of West Ham and ‘the Scream’ seemed to fit!
