Insiders bemused at £27m keeper link

Club insiders are bemused that West Ham have been linked again with AS Roma keeper Pau Lopez

According to a report from Calciomercato, the Serie A club have dropped their valuation 25-year-old stopper by ten million Euros.

Lopez, only with the club since last summer, has been a regular between the sticks making 35 appearances in all competitions.

The report suggests the Hammers and  Newcastle United have enquired about Lopez, who previously had a short spell with Spurs.

Roma could now take €30 million/£27 million according to the report, having previously valued him at around €40 million/£36 million. West Ham has a 12-month option on Fabianksi who has one year left on his contract and with Darren Randolph, Nathan Trott and  Joseph Anang it would be very surprising if David Moyes were to prioritise this position over the summer .

The suggestion that the Hammers are about to shell out £27m for a keeper this summer is completely daft.
