Inter eye Scamacca to replace failing Lukaku

|

Renowned ITK Fabrizio Roman has suggested West Ham striker Ginaluca Scamacca may become a potential transfer target for Inter Milan.

The transfer would involve a game of footballing musical chairs but hinges on Romelu Lukaku, who has struggled for form and fitness at the San Siro. The Belgium international is currently on loan at Inter from Chelsea but there have been reports the agreement may be mutually terminated.

Manager Graham Potter has faced an inconsistent start to his Stamford Bridge tenure, and the return of former crowd favourite Lukaku could provide a timely boost to his attack.

In the event of Lukaku returning to Chelsea, it is believed that Inter will turn their attentions to West Ham’s Italian international as his replacement.

It’s fair to say that Hammers manager David Moyes has struggled to get the best out of his £35m summer signing. Despite his recent goal against Leeds, Scamacca has looked a frustrated figure and his omission from the squad which faced Brentford in the FA Cup suggests he has potentially suffered another set-back.
