Inter Milan are one of the sides monitoring Issa Diop availability according to a report by Foot Mercato suggesting that Spanish clubs and a Premier League rival also want the West Ham United defender.
The 24-year-old has made four Premier League appearances this season, with Craig Dawson leaping ahead of him in the pecking order.
Foot Mercato reports that Liverpool have been tracking the Frenchman for several years. Meanwhile, Inter are also admirers – as are other Italian clubs as well as team in Spain.
However, Diop will remain very much a part of the Hammers first-team squad and won’t be going anywhere in the next two days.
David Moyes has made it crystal clear on numerous occasions to reporters that Diop remains a very important member of his squad and that he will not be allowed to leave. The manager wants four quality centre backs to compete for their starting place and says Diop is still very important to him.
In fairness to Diop, he needs to be given some kind of pathway, whether it is knowing he has a future at the club (I hope so) or the chance to move on. If Moysey has ANY thought of chasing Tarkowski again in the summer, we need to decide who we can afford to lose out of Reid, Dawson, Balbuena and Diop and that’s assuing Moyes does not see Alves as a contender in the near future.
