Iron set for exit – report

West Ham goalkeeper Darren Randolph is set to move to Aston Villa on loan in the January transfer window, according to a new report from talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

The Irons stopper has been nowhere near the first team throughout the season, with Lukasz Fabianski and Alphonse Areola battling it out for the No.1 shirt.

Randolph has not played for the Hammers since May of 2021, when the Irons beat West Brom 3-1 in the penultimate game of last season.

He has regularly been used as a backup and this season, he is not even that, with Fabianski and Areola the two foremost stoppers at the club.

Now, Crook reports that Villa are set to take him on loan, again as a backup, this time for their first-choice, Emiliano Martinez.

We have reported previously that the Irons would have accepted any kind of offer to get him out of the club and a move to Villa now appears to be on the cards.

This one is likely.
