Irons and Arsenal gunning for young star

The Hammers and Arsenal have reportedly both put offers on the table for FC Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice

French media outlet Soccerlink claim Arsenal’s  €10m bid has been rejected by the club but hasn’t specified how much West Ham have offered.

Several clubs across Europe have been tracking Claude-Maurice, with Lille, Lyon, Monaco, PSG and RB Leipzig among them.

The French youth star has scored 14 goals and assisted a further four in 35 league games for Lorient last season and his displays have grabbed attention from the scouts at West Ham.

Obviously the Irons face stiff competition and it would be a major coup if we could clinch a deal for the 20 year old.

A video, meanwhile, has circulated on social media from the player but unfortunately for the Irons it showed his former team-mate and friend, Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi, visiting him.
