“Irons board move quickly to get Bilic targets”

DragNew reports that the Hammers are ready to hold talks with Dynamo Kiev central defender Alexsander Dragovic this week have been described as “highly unlikely.”

The 24 year old was named as a Hammers target a couple of weeks back before Kiev went public with a £20 million plus valuation

However, a source close to the Hammers board claimed that he was one of a number of names that had been discussed “and no more than that.”

This morning however, one national paper said that the player was set for talks with the player which were again knocked back by the same source who is also privvy to Slaven Bilic’s thoughts on players.

But he said: “The board are moving quickly in their efforts to fulfil the brief given to them by Slav.

He said: “We expect a deal for the central defender within seven days- a player to join Winston Reid has always been the manager’s priority.

“The two major signings so far – Pedro Obiang and Dimitri Payet had been identified before his arrival but the new manager made it clear at the interview stage he would need the top defender plus another attacking and holding midfielder and right back.”

The current thinking is that Juventus’ Angelo Ogbonna is seen as the Reid partner whilst a loan deal will be organised for the fourth striker.

The next attacking midfielder through the dressing room doors is still being kept a well guarded secret.

  1. Give him what he wants to produce the team to push the top 6,
DS said they would be looking over there shoulder now back that up and bring in the best Right back Center half and Center forward out there not the cheapest
Fill the other gaps with freebies

  2. “The board are moving quickly in their efforts to fulfil the brief given to them by Slav….We expect a deal for the central defender within seven days- a player to join Winston Reid has always been the manager’s priority”.

So Slav doesn’t rate Tomkins or Collins?

  3. These 5 would do me perfectly, – Peru RB, Ogbanna CB, Song HM, Salah AM and the young striker from Basle. No fees for Song or Salah (who I personally think is world class). 20M might get the other 3 in. I think we would then have provided the manager with the resources he needs – then it will be down to him to get the team going which I believe he will.

    • John I think you hold some hypnotic powers. If not how have I gone from disagreeing to agreeing with you in such a short space of time? Just don’t click your fingers,God knows what’ll happen lol

  4. Like some of those names John, must admit i have never heard of the geezer Peru.

  5. That’s how it could be read Sparrow, what is more likely is that we now have an intelligent manager who saw last year that a midfielder and a youth player had to step in last year through lack of cover.
As for the rest of the signings the Daves,Henry and Slav will have some REAL targets, some we know and some we don’t,and they will be working hard to secure them. Eight weeks or so to go in the window closes, plenty of twists and turns to go yet.
