Irons boost as Leeds injury problems increase

Leeds United have been hit by yet another injury blow ahead of their trip to West Ham United in the FA Cup this weekend.

Joe Gelhardt is set to miss the next month of action after suffering an ankle injury in training on Thursday.

It means the Whites have five regular first teamers missing including Kalvin Phillips although Patrick Bamford is expected to be back from a hamstring injury.

However, having been side lined for a month it will be unlikely to see him in the starting line up as Leeds look to progress into the fourth round for the first time in five years. However, those missing altogether include Tyler Roberts, Rodrigo and the suspended Diego Llorente along with longer term absentee Kalvin Phillips.

The Hammers may have a couple of covid problems to overcome and David Moyes has hinted that Lukasz Fabianski may be back in goal for this tie.

There will be question marks over the inclusion of Declan and Tomas along with Mickey Antonio and Sean Bowen.
