Alex Song is highly unlikely to be named as a permanent Hammers signing in the near future.
There has been intense speculation that a double swoop will be announced by the club in the next few hours and that Song is the other player in a scenario involving Dimitri Payet.
This was based largely on a picture which emerged yesterday of the player close to Chadwell Heath training ground.
However, ClaretandHugh understands that whilst the club are working on a deal they re not at this stage near a conclusion.
We were told by a club insider: “We’ve seen that speculation but we are some way from a deal on Alex Song.”
