Irons close to ‘expensive’ Chelsea loan deal

MosesWest Ham have tonight confirmed to ClaretandHugh that they are in advanced talks aimed at bringing in Victor Moses to Upton Park on a “very very expensive loan deal.”

The Irons have been tracking the player for several weeks and are becoming increasingly confident that they can complete the deal.

As speculation started tonight we were told by a highly placed source that the deal looked to be close and that it would be a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Chelsea though have driven a seriously hard bargain and although no figures have been quoted at this stage we were told: ” It’s about 60 per cent on. If we pull it off as we would hope and expect it would be a very very expensive loan deal.”

Moses has been on loan at Liverpool and Stoke over the last couple of seasons where he has done very well making 19 appearances for each club.

He has made 23 for Chelsea since signing for them in 2012 but will give us some much needed width as boss Slaven Bilic looks for attacking options.

  1. Good news – a quality wide player at last!

  2. Don’t worry about the cost for this very, very expensive loan we can use the funds from the Kray, movie

  3. FFS anything over 1million is expensive for the the “big spenders” G & S.

  4. Terrific news – now please don’t mess it up – a serious addition to the squad. Get that young winger from Iceland too. Don’t go near Hernandez, I would bring Adebayor in ahead of Jelanic. And then finally try and secure Song. If we get all this done we are in magnificent shape.

    • Adebeyor?? ALWAYS beware any Spurs players: I remember Robbie Keane missing an unmissable sitter that ultimately relegated us. Ball came in from the left (Bobby Moore stand end), he was almost on the goal line, before and in front of keeper. The ball squeezed between him and the goal line without him touching it; like he sort of stopped his foot touching the ball. The barest of touches and it would have been in the net. It is the most suspicious miss I have EVER EVER seen. A Spurs player in Claret and Blue relegated us. Lovely! And if we bought Adebeyor, Spurs would still be paying some of his wages! Please EVERYONE AND ANYONE send this reminder to the 2 Davids. Spurs players are enemies in the camp. This is not controversial; Levy’s hatred of West Ham (beyond business sense) is not even an open secret; it is publicly known!

  5. What a pity that we didn’t sign him several seasons ago from Palace, think we bid about a mil and were given short shrift.
I recollect his agent stating that West Ham would regret not signing him at the time.
Hope it comes off now though, he was quality against us last season for the Poters.

  6. there was me thinking we would get Moses for a cheap knockdown cut price watertight bargain deal with absolutely no escape clauses for the player and turns out he’s really really very very very very expensive. Maybe song will be going for a song though.

  7. If he is expensive then I think we have used the money set aside for Song- who I expect will join in January- personally I would have spent the money on the Forrest winger instead

  8. Fingers crossed.

  9. So Jenkinson was a cheap deal for a back up full back to Tomkins.
About time they backed up there boasts,
Hope they go for the young Ugandian as well even if they offered to let him stay with them for one year on loan,
We can afford it if we are only going to spend £3 million on a striker

  10. If we get VICTOR then we don’t need another striker as he can play wide or as a. attacking forward.

  11. I’ve always considered Moses as a ‘basket case’

  12. I think Moses is OK at best. If Moses is ‘expensive’ (whatever that means), it would be far far FAR better values to catch the Ungandan wonderkid Pione Sisto of Danish club, FC Midtjylland. Sisto, Payet, Lanzini across the middle?….Phew, that would blow the Prem to pieces! Smash + grab; goal after goal after goal. Yes please!
