West Ham United are edging closer a deal to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich, following yesterdays encouraging talks .
The Hammers have held ‘encouraging’ discussions with the Bundesliga side over the past few days, with Bayern Munich close to agreeing the small detail holing up the transfer for the 26-year-old..
Mazraoui is keen on a move to the Premier League and West Ham and is believed to have agreed Hammers terms having been given permission to talk with the player whilst the transfer fee was finalised.
While Manchester United remain interested in Mazraoui, West Ham are confident of securing the player’s services in the coming days
The 26-year-old is a versatile player who can operate at both right-back and left-back, offering Julen Lopetegui greater tactical flexibility. His experience in the Champions League and his ability to contribute both defensively and offensively make him an attractive proposition for the Hammers.
His injury record could be a cause for concern for West Ham though. Since the start of the 2020/2021 season, the Moroccan has had 16 different injuries, missing a total number of 331 days and 73 games in total.
Without a doubt, for just €16 million for an international level defender is great business for the Hammers, albeit only if the Moroccan can stay fit throughout the season, he can be one of the bargains of the summer transfer window. It would be a significant boost to our hopes of challenging for a top six finish in the Premier League next season
Not another Zouma I hope! He might be good but is he the bees knees?
What a about his injury history. Haven’t we learnt from Zouma?
