Irons face another blank weekend

The Irons are going to have a second match re-arranged after Arsenal beat Everton to enter the FA Cup semi final.

We were due to meet the Gunners at the Emirates on Sunday April 13 which is when the north Londoners arenow  due to play their semi final tie.

We lost our game this weekend as a result of Hull City’s FA Cup clash with Sunderland tomorrow and now another blank weekend is on the cards.

Meanwhile, ClaretandHugh sends its best wishes to former Hammer Chris Powell who takes Charlton to Sheffield United on Sunday in pursuit of a semi final spot.

Chris is one of the game’s genuine nice guys and although his  playing career took in five England caps and a play-off final with West Ham,  they came at the time the national stadium was being rebuilt.

He told www.London24. com: ” I missed out as a player against Bolton and Middlesbrough in the quarter-finals.

“And sadly for me when I played for England and then in a play-off final for West Ham the games weren’t at Wembley so I haven’t been in that capacity.

“So I’d love it to be with Charlton, albeit in a semi-final which isn’t great. I’m sure everyone would prefer it just to be the final but why not take the opportunity to take your team there?”

All the best mate!
