Irons fans in painful Spurs post mortem

|
The long and painful post mortem into yesterday’s defeat goes on among the Irons fans at the ClaretandHugh Facebook forum @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/.
After a night’s sleep, it gets no better – here are a collection of their comments.
Daniel Danielli Leach  the way bilic was trying to play today against a tottenham side which were pressing high was unreasonable. we would have been better off playing long balls to avoid tottenham pressing the back 4 too much

Stephen Snell
Stephen Snell To be honest BILIC got it wrong again, so we have had some great results on the road, but look at Sunderland, Watford and today, we were not just bad but very bad. We do not have a plan at home either, so yes I am worried, bilic’s team was wrong today and his subs were poor, players and timing, need I say more, I only hope we don’t have a Sam mark 2 with no plan B

Mark English
Mark English When I seen the team sheet which included Carroll and Sakho I knew we’d get over run in midfield. Carroll was a passenger til he left the field of play. He upsets the rhythm of the whole team, has a poor first touch and is too slow in possession. Zarate deserved a start, maybe even give Antonio a run out? But no m! We tried to accommodate the misfit that is Andy Carroll. I’m sorry but he simply isn’t good enough.

Markku Kauppinen
Markku Kauppinen If we had Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen we would be at the top of the table. They know each other from Ajax days and are very stable.

Sean-Michael Kehl
Sean-Michael Kehl If they just keep firing crosses into the box…Andy Carroll will eventually head one home

Neil McCarthy
Neil McCarthy Not going to panic. Noble being suspended next game is a blessing in disguise. Bilic needs to drop Jenkinson, Tomkins and Carroll.

Malcolm Atkins
Malcolm Atkins Yep sorry about that one. I actually think Tomkins is decent and will improve with better players around him. It’s also undeniable that the loss of Payet is huge. Don’t see why people think there is anything wrong in that. Take Vardy out of Leicester and see how they do. We need another striker though. With Valencia having lots of injuries and few goals we only have Sakho and Carroll. Zarate is different and has to play off someone, a little deeper than a striker and Jelovic – well it’s a no swearing forum

Chris Denning
Chris Denning Carroll, Sakho, Moses,Lanzini. Too much in attack and not enough in defence. We collapsed in midfield. Put Sakho up front, play Kayoute, Noble, Song, Lanzini and Obiang in midfield and you have a different game. If you need a bit more attack come the last half hour, bring on either Zarate, Carroll, Moses or Antonio. Win the midfield battle first, then try to win the game
