Slaven Bilic is ready to fly to England for interviews with West Ham United as soon as asked.
And ClaretandHugh understands that could be within the next few days as the two Davids move quickly to make their first approach on the former central defender.
We were told by a source very close to Bilic: “Slaven has been watching the situation closely from Croatia and wants to believe he’s in the frame now. He sees Upton Park the as his second home.
“The fact that top managers have apparently turned the club down is not an issue with him – he enjoys that the West Ham owners have been dreaming big.”
We can confirm that the former Croatian manager is now at the top of the Hammers wanted list after moves to speak with Seville boss Unai Emery never got off the ground.
The Seville boss was offered around 3.5 million euros to take over at Napoli but is set to reject that and all other offers having all but decided to stay where he is.
“That has left Bilic as the prime target for the Hammers and club sources have revealed that moves are afoot to make their first approaches over the next few hours.
It will be a major shock if the 46 year old doesn’t hammer out a two year deal with the club he served as a player in 1996-97.
Meanwhile ClaretandHugh has learned that Marseilles boss Marcelo Bielsa allegedly wanted between £75m – £100 million transfer budget when interviewed for the Hammers job.
Bielsa was an early front runner for the Upton Park job but like Rafa Benitez was looking for a hefty transfer way in excess of what the club is able to offer its new manager.
Ok,i will cancel the guard of honour Can,lol. But listen,we never really believed we would get an elite, stella manager but i can live with Bilic no problem if he comes.I aint going to dismiss someone before they even take over the team.Never even did that with hippo 😉
Thank you rads but you don’t have to.
Seriously, our problem always was that we are in a classic chicken and egg situation. We need a quality manager to get the team up the league far enough for us to attract a quality manager.
This is why I always felt that it would come down to a “last man standing” situationq
Same as Rads they have nothing to offer to our club and have serious mental problems,
It’s the idiot in the pub you want to break their neck but they ain’t worth it,
It’s the spanner bullying his old women but is as brave as a mouse
They could not come on here and hold a proper discussion because no one here would let them bully them
What ever names they go by on line they are Cowards
Lol,exactly why i never go there, they profess to be good decent Irons supporters but some really are the pits mate. Some really good guys but a few opinionated jerks.I aint been there since Hippo left.I find it more relaxing not to 😉
Sorry Sean I know you wanted unity but I need to say this..I’ve just made the mistake of reading the other site and before or if Bilic is appointed we have numerous so called hammers fans baying for blood. The self professed clique and statistical know alls are out in force not allowing others opinions to count, throwing there rattles out the pram if their Messiah is slagged off..hopefully some of them might come and have a look at C+H and realise that opinion is opinion you don’t persecute those who have differing views to you…and Joe from WHTID if your reading this you truly are a self opinionated narrow minded individual your opinion ain’t the be all and end all, maybe just maybe you might get that one day but I doubt it….I’ll just stick to C+H the home of banter and differing opinions without the constant bull**** and statistics
Don’t care who is in charge but £25 million is not going to buy us any success, with a min
Of 8 players required we will be buying bargain basement players and probably selling asserts to get a squad together
Sorry to sound downbeat but £25 million buys you Valencia,Kouyate and one other,we will still have Nolan,Jarvis,O,Brien, and will have to cover Jenkinson,Song,Cole,Demel,Nene
Numbers don’t add up
Why did the board tell us they were going for the best
I salute you Can,let me round up the guys & we will give you a guard of honour. You are a genius of that there is no doubt 😀
So,in the end it became a case of “The last man standing ” my original pick when the whole thing began
as I said enough times the big managers dont wont to risk their reputations for a small transfer budget; how Bielsabub fits into that I dont know.
Give it to Billic and I’ll support him like a real west ham supporter, even though he was not my choice. He’ll need all the help he can get.
It’s a rare thing that we take completely to managers that have no prior connection to the club – probably a fault with us as fans, but I think a truism. Therefore, when it became apparent that Bilic, someone who, as a coach, has had a not inconsiderable degree of success, and is still regarded with fondness by the majority of us lot, was likely to be both available and interested, the choice became an obvious one.
