West Ham have reacted with great cynicm to reports they will need to find £17 million to land Beskitas winger Gokhan Tore.
The club is today reported as having seen a £12 million offer rejected by the Turkish club who are quoted as wanting £17 million for the player – double what it was claimed we were ready to pay when one of the regular reports surfaced a couple of months back!
A cental striker remains the club’s main priority and they have made it clear on several occasions that for Tore to arrive someone is going to have to leave.
We were told again today – as we were two months ago: ” Our spending plan well mapped out. We need a top striker and a right back.
“For us to get involved in a serious move for Tore, somebody would have to leave. Iit was claimed back in March that we would announce him as a signing at around £8.5 million in May – what happened to that?
“And regular statements from Besiktas that they want this, that or the other should be taken with a pinch of salt. That’s not the way business is done if talks have reached an advanced stage.”
Besiktas spokesman Rebecca Wood is reported as saying today: “Gokhan Tore is an important part of our team. We will participate in the Champions League next season and are in favour of keeping Tore. For us to consider selling, we would look for a fee of around £17million.”
Why bother , he will only be second choice to Antonio !
The bard has proven to be a first choice as his statistics prove , he has outperformed tore all season , 8-9 mill top wack , the truth is the bard will be even better next year, and he doesn’t get injured , also his tracking back is something to be admired ,
C/f , r/b , d/m/f x2 are the priority, IMO of course .?
lol reading this news and that one of the other day concerning Lacazette, it occurs to me that WH trading season started off with a bang… 2 offers made, 2 offers rejected… I’m just kidding, but that made me smile… 😉
I would love us to sign Tore,he is absolute quality IMO 😉
West Ham are said to be considering making an offer for Besiktas star Oguzhan Ozyakup.
So we lose Moses & hopefully gain Tore. That will be a well nice upgrade.Left footed winger,i have seen a few matches he has played in & he looks the real deal.He wont be fighting for a starting berth with Antonio for one place. If he was he would p#ss over Antonio anyway.
I don’t know him Rads, just a quick view on youtube, but he seems to be a good player and Slav knows him much better than us, so if Tore is good for Bilic, he’s good for me too… I’m not sure if our friends of the other site agree with Slav… I hope so or the deal’s off.. lol 😀
He is a very good player Matte.I have a close friend who is a Turk,he is football crazy & gets all the Turkish League games streamed,so when I’m round his house he normally has it on.So yeah I have seen quite a bit of him,if we managed to sign him I would be well happy 😉
thanks Rads, tell your friends to help us with this deal, he could be our Turkish ambassador… 😀
I dont think he could do much good for us Matte,he runs a kebab shop, haha. He also supports Fenerbache,so he has no contacts at Besiktas. This is a job for the Wetpants Transfer Committee I think 😉
My local shopkeeper is a fenerbache fan from turkey and reckons Tore is probably the best turkish player around atm. Im worried that if Bilic is so infatuated with him that the peoples hero aka Antonio might get bench warming duties. Hope not, he was my hammer of the year.
I hold my hands up,i really know nothing about the kid but from all reports he is a talented player.I think Antonio is a superb player,he has a great heart.Lets see how everything pans out,im sure with the cup competitions there will be plenty of matches for most, especially with a little rotation involved through the season.
We need to buy a striker because we dont score enough goals. Imho Valencia wont be here next season or moses or emenke. None have scored enough goals or any at all. AC doesn’t score enough so there is plenty of room for Tore & AN Other.
There are at least two new names mentioned everyday by the media, agents hyping up their players. It’s the media’s shot gun approach, fire out soo many names & at some point they will get it right then claim it is an exclusive. Lol 😀
Just pay the money now and get him on board, everyone knows the prices will be inflated this year ,sell Valencia and we are £5 million down,
I thought we were told 3 days ago the 2 Daves were going to put in what ever money needed for success in Europe,
AC to Sunderland for £10 million and buy Bony £10 million spent,
Oxford goes put £12 million on his head we are £3 million down,
Sak stays or goes his choice,
Should be some bargains when Manure sells what they don’t want,
If we buy our most expensive RB we are £15 million down still £35 million to spend on a CF and CH and if Sak leaves more money to buy another Forward,
Anything more the Daves can fork out for success
Bloody hell bubs i thought i clicked onto the wrong site there for a minute. All these stats 🙂
Slav really rates him that’s good enough for me, hope the Dave’s can make it happen !!!
Don’t know what happened one minute I tapping away then I am sitting in a puddle,
Must have fell a sleep and spilt my beer,No chance
Interesting times who comes who goes
Why is everyone saying Antonio will be on the bench if Tore comes in? Antonio plays on the right, Tore plays on the left, and with Payet in the middle that is a scary attacking line, Lanzini would be the bench warmer or the Euro playmaker.
Bye bye Valencia, Moses and Emenike. Welcome Tore and hopefully Van Der Weil and more likely than not Zaza. Cannot see Bats picking us over Spurs (champions league too tempting) and cannot see Lacazette picking us over PSG (shame as would of liked to see him up tp for us).
I ain’t really got to grips with that argument or discussion either mate.Tore is predominantly a left sided player though he can play on the right. He is certainly not in direct competition with Ant for a right sided berth.Dont really understand why people believe that could be the case 😉
We need to buy Tore as much as we need a striker and a RB. Moses has gone back to Chelsea and Valencia is not a winger (due to Bilic’s obsession with Carroll he was forced to play here) These are the 3 key positions. I would keep Valencia and Sakho but play Valencia up top – not out on the wing. I would purchase a RB (and not that lad that PSG let go – by all accounts he was no where near the PSG first team) and Tore and then I would sell Carroll and pay whatever I get with the Carroll money and whatever money is left over after the purchase of the RB and Tore, I would then spend it on a top drawer striker – if that is 40 million then we will get quality for that – the one I would take is this French guy from Lyon – he looks truly outstanding and I think he could play either as a 9 or 10. That’s just my opinion – personally I would love to see Carroll being sold because I am afraid with him around both Sakho and Valencia are going to be moved out to the wing to accomadate him – there is only one place you can play Carroll.
