Irons have budget for one more quality player

sam-allardyceSam Allardyce has revealed the club has the budget to sign one more top quality player before the summer transfer window closes.

And as things stand that looks more than likely to be a new central defender.

Despite spending almost £25 million in transfer fees, the club is ready to add one more player if they can find the right man.

It’s a display of great confidence in the manager by the co-chairmen after a summer where Allardyce was perceived as being under great pressure.

London24.com reports the manager as saying: “We have the budget for one quality player and that’s a possibility before the window shuts.”

Reporting his morning press conference they added that he confirmed  he hoped no players will be leaving Upton Park before Monday’s deadline despite alleged interest in Ravel Morrison, Mo Diame and Winston Reid.

He said: “At the moment, I can’t see anyone going the other way.”
